Why is this even news?

Ah, Straits Times, you never fail to disappoint when given a chance to do so. An "international celebrity" don't get to shop at one particular boutique because she arrived when it was closing is not news, no matter how famous she, or her companion, is. Not even when that companion blogged about it because his ego felt a kick to its gonads. David Gan and Zhang Ziyi should just get over themselves, and ST shouldn't even have published this non-event. Not even on STOMP.

Seriously, this is not news, and imposing your moral standards on other people, especially people you do not know, on activities that you are not a part of, is called "projection". I cannot understand why this is, in any shape or form, important enough to be regarded as news, and the only way this gets anywhere near the media is because of STOMP and morons who contribute to it, like Kenneyboy46.

The case against STOMP

I once described STOMP, The Straits Times section for "citizen journalism", as the place where Singaporeans go to whine publicly about non-issues, where intelligent discourse goes to die, and a glorious showcase in Singaporean idiocy, wrapped up in a site design that renders it into a steaming pile of radioactive, mind-numbing, IQ-reducing poop that even flies wouldn't approach out of fear.
