One op-ed, two views on Dr Thio and NYU

This Billings Gazette op-ed piece featured two different views from Andrea Sarvady and Shaunti Feldhahn on Thio Li-ann's aborted trip to NYU. Miss Feldhahn defended Thio, her "close friend from grad school", insisting that political correctness stifles free debate, while Miss Sarvady challenged the legitimacy of Thio teaching a course on human rights.

Dr Thio Li-ann not teaching at NYU after all

I was alerted to this news when our (sadly) former NMP Siew Kum Hong sent this tweet, which was picked up quickly by friends on Twitter. This article from Above The Law broke the news, and also has the official NYU statement on the decision, made by Dr Thio and not the NYU administration. The recent back-and-forth between students of NYU and Dr Thio Li-ann over her visiting professorship to teach human rights has shed more light into the tactics and mentality of our local legal scholar than that of the NYU students. One of the most illuminating exchanges was between Malik Graves-Pryor, an information technology professional who works for NYU law, whose letter to the NYU Law dean sparked an 18-point rebuttal from Dr Thio.
