The White House drags its feet in efforts to repeal DADT. Le sigh.
James Surowiecki says "trusting Wall Street firms to act in their clients’ interests is a mug’s game".

Back when I was in law school (30 years ago, oy!), a group of friends and I started playing a regular poker game. Over the years, most of us stayed in the area. We've drifted apart some, but we still get together a few times per year and play. Also, over the years, many of us have advanced in our profession, to the point where we at least know some Very Important People.

The most obvious takeaway from the Goldman Sachs/Abacus scandal is that trusting Wall Street firms to act in their clients’ interests is a mug’s game. (Felix Salmon offers a clear explanation of the way Goldman seems to have misled just about everyone on the wrong side of the Abacus deal.) But the whole story is also important because it shows, in painful detail, the utter fecklessness of investors and financial institutions during the housing bubble.
