#FollowFriday ver. 2 - The #awaresg edition

It's Friday again, which means another #FollowFriday post. This time around I will be focusing on the people I met in the course of the takeover and subsequent restoration of order of AWARE; we might have never met otherwise, but they have changed my life for the better. On to the list!

First up, I recommend following @missbossy. She was my constant link to the May 2nd EGM, phoning me with updates so I can tweet them. She has continued her indefatigable work with AWARE as a volunteer, and is quite the cat herder who manages to keep this crazy bunch moving in one direction. And apparently, she makes a heck of a mojito. Or margarita. I can't remember.

Next is professional writer and lunatic @mizhalle, aka June. She loves her Gundam and yaoi manga, possesses a very unique fashion sense (that's a compliment), constructs decapitation scenes using her toys, and dresses her gunpla in frilly dresses. Gunpla. In frilly dresses. If that is not enough, let it be known that I think she's also a better blogger than I am, and any convo with her on Twitter or real-life has the potential to fold in pain and pleasure into an exotic mix that defies my limited vocabulary. See it for yourself.

One of many whom we scarred mentally with Gundams in frilly dresses is @hanifn. It was he, and @GrowlyBear of course, who kept me company at Shaw Tower Starbucks while we tweeted the May 2nd EGM. Conversations with him is always enjoyable, because he knows when to kick back and when to be serious. Also, fellow beer lover!

Then there is @vickilew, who despite missing the EGM due to illness, still managed to participate via Twitter, and quick-thinking enough to design a series of t-shirts to commemorate the event, and managing to donate 70% of the profits to AWARE, raising more than S$3,000. Don't let her combativeness fool you, she's a very nice person, #fyou tags notwithstanding.

The recently-married, cat-loving @germaine also deserves a mention. She was featured on a news segment talking about Twitter, which we eventually allowed her to explain after several beers, has lovely cats who perform impromptu acupuncture, and has a wicked sense of humour. That, and she keeps reminding me about the herb lamb.

Lastly, we have @Wolfgang_. Yes, that underscore is actually part of the handle. No, he is not actually Wolfgang Puck, much to my great disappointment. We kinda take the mickey out of him, because he often makes remarks that we can take out of context, and he's nice enough to laugh at them. Like when he ordered a girly drink with a cherry, and said out loud "someone, please, take my cherry". Since he is a Man United supporter (hey, no one's perfect, leave him alone), I will never let him forget those slip-ups. Also, #bumfondle.
